Finissaggio e Tintoria Ferraris was born and operates in the Biella textile district, one of the oldest and most renowned in the world, where wool processing has left deep marks on the landscape, the economy and the identity of an entire area. A condition that made this company possible, and one that this company helps keep alive.
Doing business here means being part of an ecosystem built on skills passed down through generations, on suppliers and customers who often know one another across generations, on a culture of work well done that cannot be improvised. Ferraris has been part of this ecosystem for over sixty years.
PARTICIPATION AND RESPONSIBILITY
Whoever leads a company in a given area also has a responsibility towards that area. Francesco Ferraris, formerly President of the Young Entrepreneurs Group, today serves as Vice President of the Biella Industrial Union, with responsibility for issues relating to the area’s appeal and the development of the local economic system. A commitment that translates into concrete participation in the debate on work, training and the future of the district. Francesco is also Senior Vice President of Confindustria Moda, with responsibility for Artificial Intelligence and generational transition.
COMMUNITY
The bond with the local area is also expressed through support for local initiatives: from collaboration with the Biella Master’s programme in Noble Fibres and the ITS TAM technical institute in Biella for training textile-sector technicians, to contributions to the BIellezza Foundation, the Biella Archives Network, Biella Hospital and the Edo Tempia Fund. Small and large gestures that reflect the belief that a healthy company also does good for the community that hosts it.
ART AND INDUSTRY
Industrial plants as works of art. Colombian artist Alejandro Vasquez Salinas created “Vivi a colori vivi” (“Live in vivid colours”) at the Benna plant, a site-specific mural produced as part of the AIM – Art Through the Walls project, promoted by the Biella Industrial Union with artistic direction by Cittadellarte Fondazione Pistoletto.
The project transforms the facades of Biella’s industrial plants into works of contemporary art, restoring beauty to places of work and opening up the world of production to a new dialogue with creativity. An idea that resonates with something deeply rooted in this company: the belief that doing things well and doing things beautifully are not separate goals.
